Choir and orchestra: a concert in pictures

I was invited to shoot a concert of the Choeur du musée d’art de Joliette accompanied by the Ensemble Vocal Polymnie and the Ensemble Sinfonia on April 14th. The choir and orchestra, under the direction of maestro Philippe Bourque, interpreted the Mass in C Major from Beethoven and the Mozart requiem. I thoroughly enjoyed both masterworks especially in a framework as majestic as the Joliette Cathedral.

So musically, it was a splendid experience but photographically, it was quite a challenge due in major part to the very uneven lighting and the size of the place. To make things even more interesting, the lighting and sound equipment also added very unseemly clutter.

All in all, I had a very enjoyable evening well worth the detour. It made me discover the nice and quaint town of Joliette as an added bonus.

Technical notes: Shots taken with Canon 5D Mk II at ISO 6400 with Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS and Canon EF 135 mmL lenses.
