  Thanx Jo. I am not sure I can help. When I first started using WordPress, I experimented to see how big a picture can be inserted and displayed. I found out that 1500x1000px or so seems to be the max for the theme I chose (Nishita). I did not do anything else besides using the theme with all default settings. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
